The Judge's Statement
This all-media salon exhibition, hosted by the Gallery at Round Top, Texas is a real hit with me. It was my honor to be invited and have the opportunity to view selected works considered for awards. Thank you, Gallery at Round Top.
All presented artworks have two things in common… Well thought-out goals and intentions along with that “fire in the belly”. My job was to find the ones that communicated the clearest message. They received an award.
Some subject matter is all too familiar in other juried shows, but this art has a fresher approach with contemporary attitude — not the same, old, boring art repeated in every art exhibit.
Although these artists’ skills and ideas are diversified, it was their apparent investment of practice time in their studios, creating many pieces of art before this one.
This excellent multi-media exhibition is a wonderful example that creating art is alive and well.
Thank you, artists, for sharing your work.
